Traditions

The Twelve Traditions safeguard the Fellowship from the collective Spiritual Malady of its members.  By applying the values of the Tradtions, we grow into a healthy and attractive AA, one - Homegroup - at - a - time as long as each AA member carries AA's message in the Spirit of the Basic Text for Alcoholics Anonymous, one-day-at-a-time.

Here is an overview of our Traditions and what they represent at group level:

1  Unity (from Disunity) - Problem

2  God in Group - Solution

3  Requirement for Membership - Qualification of Prospect

5  Primary Purpose - Delivering AA's Message to Prospect (Action)

6  Never Endorse, Finance or Lend Name -  AA Integrity

7  Self-Support - Prudence & Reward for Good Works.

8  Non-Professional - Lay Led

9  Never Organised - Managing the Unmanageble

Emotional Sobriety

Steps for Individual first, then Traditions for Group Health next and Concepts for Worldwide Credibility at Fellowship level.   Real recovery begins with the prospect who becomes a protege', then a friend of the Fellowship through effective sponsorship and consistent service at Homegroup level; the best place to grow in emotional sobriety among real friends who love and accept you as you are!
